Valentine's Swap 2014

It's been a while and I have a lot of stuff to catch up on but I just wanted to talk about this .....

I am going to host a Valentine's Swap, because lets face it Valentines is all about Love and what do we have in the bloggy word but a whole heap of love!!!! And I know I am not the only one out there without a genuine Valentine to get spoilt by!!

So For this swap you will be putting together:

*A hand crafted Heart of any kind
*Sweets for your Sweet
*A Card/Postcard/Tag which can have your blog details etc on it
*Flowers - use your imagination for this one! Any kind of flower you can think of!!

I hope you have all had a lovely day. My Valentine's Day was a bit bitter sweet. Thinking about how Jase isn't here is a daily thing for me, but on days like today it is especially hard.

Love Letters

I have realised since losing Jason that I was one of those very lucky ladies who's husband did more than he was appreciated for. He sent love letters, cards, notes, emails often. For the longest time they have just sat in a dusty old box. I decided it was time to give them the respect they deserved, and I have also been reading them a lot more lately, so I decided to make a Love Letters Box for them.
When Jase went back to America at the end of 2008 he bought me back a whole heap of craft stuff, one of the things he came home with was this suitcase



It wasn't originally orange but as you all know if anything sits still for long enough in my house it becomes orange!!


This range is called State Of the Heart by My Minds Eye and it is what I used to change my little Suitcase into this ....

Cards

I DO NOT like making cards. For some reason I get a mind block when it comes to cards and I really struggle with them. So when there was a Better Scrapbooking card challenge I frowned ... a lot! But last night I sat down and made three .. yes I said THREE cards, for me that's AMAZING!

SO here is my Card for the Better Scrapbooking January Card Challenge:
Use Markers - Use them to colour your stamps, write a title or create a border. Lets see what you do with your Markers.



This could be a Valentines card but I am using it as a Wedding Card .. maybe lol who knows really! I don't have a Valentine anymore so I will put it to use somewhere! I used Making Memories Love Notes paper which I stenciled and cut Hearts from. I soo need a Heart punch!! Then using a white marker pen made the dotty border around.

The other cards I made are my favourite!



These were make with Making Memories {Note}worthy paper and I used my Stampin' Up Butterfly punch & stamps.
A while back on Facebook there was a 'Pay it Forward' thing going around, comment and I'll make something for you so long as you pay it forward to 5 people. Well I signed up so these cards will go with 2 of my 'Pay It Forward' items!

It is raining hard at my place today .. perfect weather for crafting!!!
Only 3 1/2 days until the Jan Challenges end at Better Scrapbooking head on over and join in!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

sit has been a busy day for me today! The kids and I have done some baking and I have done some crafting.
I made the kids a Valentines themed lunch which they devoured!


Here is what we baked for Daddy for Valentines Day ...



Chocolate Chip Cookies with pink icing and silver balls, Red Chocolate Chip Cupcakes with Icing Sugar. Jase has been at work all day today so hopefully he enjoys his surprise when he gets home!

I did a LO for the TM Scrappers challenge today the challenge was ... Create a single or double page layout with the theme BIG IS BETTER. you can interpret that any way you like. for example big photos, big embellishments, papers with big patterns on them. big titles etc. let your imagination run wild ... I have been wanting to scrap these pics of Riley for a while and this was the perfect opportunity!


This was the very first time he had let us get his face painted ... I was upset I didn't have my camera with me because it was a little smudged by the time I got to take some photos. But he was a really cool tiger!

I also did another LO which I didn't do specifcally for the challenge but used it for anyway! ...


This was Abbey eating her first solid food her Big Helper brother was very serious about giving it to her, she sure did love it though.

Valentines ....

Well so much for posting everyday!!
It has been hot and I have been incredibly unmotivated!! I have a few things to show you though ...

Over at TM Scrappers I put out a Valentines Day Challenge. The challenge was to take a photo that represented Love and make a card or LO with it.
Here is my photo ...


I took many many photos to get the kids hands in the right spot! And it was early in the morning so the kids had their PJs on still!! But I'm glad I did it so early because by mid morning it was raining so no shadows!!

Yesterday I got a box in the mail from my wonderful friend Jennie!! Oh hurray!! it was very exciting! I'll take some pics later on to show you the goodies that were in the box!
And that is all I have!

Happy Valentines Week

This Sunday is Valentines Day. I am hoping to make some cards with my kids to send to their friends and maybe make some treats to pop in the cards too ... Watch this space for what we end up doing!!
