I am Loving .......

This crazy girl and her crazy outfits, which mostly tend to be her dolls clothes!!!

My beautiful Phoebe. Phoebe is my baby I had before I had babies. She is 12years old and I was a little concerned about her health so took her to the vet. Turns out she is in perfect health but may be going a little senile. The vet called her a dottery old lady!! She is my snuggle bum.

Getting new clothes from amazing local artists!! If you haven't already go check out Jessie Rose who has recently opened a store in Kamo. She is an AMAZING artist and I absolutely love her Rose Red and Boy Black ranges. Riley is modeling a Boy Black T-shirt.

My neighbour, who recently moved out, gave me a heap of wood that was on her property.  We borrowed my uncles chainsaw and my brother chopped it up. This is only half! I don't think I'll have to buy much, if any firewood this winter! Score!!!

Reading LOTS. I have given myself a goal, over at Goodreads, to read 100 books this year. I have so many books that have been given to me that I want to read. My library is overflowing!! I love it! Reading is good for my soul, I want to feed my soul a lot more this year.

I am loving that my biggest brother is moving back from Australia after being away for 13 years.  These cousins are loving being able to spend heaps of time together, just like cousins should!

I am loving having summer milkshake and ice cream dates with these gorgeous kiddies of mine.
I am loving that here in Whangarei we have some beautiful places to hang out.

It's all about who you know!
I am loving that because I have a friend who just also happens to be the Northland Rugby team mascot that I get great photo opportunities like this one!!

I am loving that after having these orange tiles in a box for sooo long that they are finally on the wall in my new bathroom.

On a small side note I am not loving that the bathroom still isn't finished!

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something you can be thankful for no matter how simple it is. 

I am LOVING that I have finally finished the playroom!! Riley and Abbey LIVE in this room now. Their toys aren't in my living room anymore!! I can sit on my couch and read quietly or listen to the radio in peace while the kids play with the lego or "cook" in their kitchen or watch TV. It is FANTASTIC!!! Plus it is such a fantastic place to hang out together as a family to play games, watch a movie or whatever. 

My Aunt is moving house and getting rid of quite a bit of stuff.  She asked me if I wanted this massive notice board. I thought about where I would put it before I said yes, which is pretty impressive for me! Usually I would have just said yes! I thought it would fit perfectly on the wall in the hallway between the kids bedrooms. Mum and I had seen some awesome NZ themed fabric in Spotlight the day before so I knew exactly what I was going to cover it with. I think it looks so good in the hallway! I might need to change the colour of the washi-ed light switch cover to match though!

I am LOVING that my builder came and did this to my bathroom today!!! Sooo excited to be getting a new bathroom!!!!

While at the Warehouse this week the kids and I fell in love with these adorable Christmas Cat costumes. I didn't think the cats were going to be overly impressed with me dressing them up but I couldn't resist buying them.

Comet was surprisingly co-operative, Phoebe and Twinkles not so much!! But nawwww how cute is my little kitty!!

Today is Halloween!!
Although Halloween isn't really a New Zealand tradition we have always celebrated it with the kids. Since they are 1/2 American I like to give them a taste of that side of their heritage. We don't trick or treat but we do have a Halloween party. This year due to camps and other such things our Halloween Party is going to be a week later than usual. But that doesn't stop us from decorating the house up!! I love having American family who send AMAZING care packages with the most amazing Halloween decorations! This witch is my favourite!! Thanks Mom!!!

Things I'm Loving

And This is especially true this week since I have had a week of all 3 of us being sick!!

I am Loving that my Sherbert Bird has a lovely new and upgraded home!! I always thought that his cage was too small, he now has loads of room to flit and flutter around in! He seems to be enjoying it so far!

I am Loving that even though my boy is growing up and is 8 now he still treasures things like Gerry.  Gerry lost a button and Riley was a little upset about it so he picked a new button for me to sew on. As I was sewing Riley was saying
"Be Brave Gerry it will be ok"

Despite being unwell I have tried to muster up the energy to keep working on the Kids playroom. I am LOVING that I can see progress in that room and hopefully the kids will have their own space to play in and leave their toys in again!

This Guy ....



well it isn't my canary but it looks and sounds like him.  A few weeks ago we got this beautiful orange canary, we named him Sherbert. He's been fairly quiet but the last week he has been singing away, it is a beautiful sound and I am loving listening to him.

This Show ....



Buffy is my all time favourite TV show. I am a geek and I have all 7 seasons on DVD. I have been re-watching them all from season 1 and right now I am almost at the end of season 5.  Not sure what I'm going to do when it finishes ... what on earth will I watch!?!?!?!

These Books ....

My Aunt is a MASSIVE reader, she had hundreds of books in boxes and had decided it was time to get rid of them so I got first dibs! Sooo excited!  There was a book called The Alchemyst - The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel.  Of course being a MASSIVE Harry Potter fan I HAD to take that book. If anyone knows Harry, Nicholas Flamel played a pretty major part in the plot of the Philosophers Stone.  The Alchemyst has nothing to do with Harry Potter but I LOVE it just as much!!

The book series is called 'The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel' and they are by Michael Scott. The books have magic, mythical beings, hidden worlds, amazing creatures and fantastic storylines and I am LOVING them! There are 6 books and I have just finished reading book #2 and am just dying to start #3.

If you like fantasy you really need to read these!

I thought I'd jump on board and do a Things I'm loving post ... it's been a while and I feel like I need to remind myself of some real positive things at the moment.

I am Loving working from home - I can sit inside by the fire, watching my favourite show, and doing work all at the same time - LOVE

I am Loving the new trampoline mat that my friend Nicola gave us. The kids have been without a tramp for over a year now .. ever since this happened .....

But thanks to Nicola I didn't have to go buy a new one and the kids are now able to go outside and leave me in peace  and have some fun!

I am Loving that my house is now leak free, after the builder discovered nasty rotten wood due to a long term leak. Not the best thing to find out but I am thankful it is now fixed.

I am Loving that I am only one coat of paint, an extractor fan and a shower curtain away from a finished bathroom!! And then the main bathroom gets started! Soooo excited about that one!!

I thought I'd start blogging again by linking up with MNM's Things I'm Loving

I am loving a super long Easter weekend which had my kids home for 6 whole days!!!
We didn't do anything overly exciting over the weekend and I actually took very few photos (what!!!!)

So Thursday night my awesome friends Taryn from Orewa and her two kids came up to spend some of the Easter weekend with us.

I ADORE Taryn. She is one of those friends that you can just chill out with. I remember one weekend she was here and we spend most of the weekend laying on a couch each reading our books while our 4 kids played. I never feel pressured to do stuff with her and it's awesome. We chin wag, drink, eat and our kids play. Fabulous!

I am loving the Waipu Easter Carnival. I have always wanted to go and FINALLY made it out there. The kids had a blast doing all the cool things and it was nice to just get out and about.

A super bonus of the Carnival was bumping into Leonie from Kiwi At Heart! She had just returned to NZ from Oz to live (YAY!!!)

Man I need a Haircut!

I loved catching up with Leonie and a few other Bloggy friends at a "Welcome Home Leonie" BBQ. It was LOADS of fun! We ate yummy food, the kids played awesomely together and had an Easter Egg Hunt. Leonie's Mum & Dad were awesome Hosts. It is such an exciting thing to have my lovely friend within visiting distance again! I must organise a road trip soon!!
