Art Journal

So I think you have heard me talk about Art Night right? Well if not I'll give you a brief run down ...
These awesome ladies, Ruth & Janine, come around to my place once a week (usually a Wednesday) and we craft. Well that is the goal, sometimes we just eat and chat!!
Anyhow ...
Ruth is an amazing Art Journalist. She is AMAZING! She started up this Art Journal page on Facebook  called Just Journal and has been doing step-by-step Art Journal page how to every week and I have been really enjoying it.
So I thought I'd share with you my pages. There have been 4 so far but since I have yet to take a photo of #4 I will just share the first 3 with you.

The journalling prompt for page #1 was the new year 2012 and we had to choose a word. My word of the year is LIVE!

The next prompt was to choose a quote or poem. Mine said ....

"Courage does not always Roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying I will try again tomorrow"

Prompt #3 was to say how we had incorporated our word into our week

Ruth is doing a fantastic job of teaching us lots of different techniques and tips and throwing me right out of my comfort zone with different materials and mediums. It's great fun! Not only that but her journal prompts are awesome.

Can't wait to see what is in store for us this week!!

Flashback Friday

As most of you know I am obsessed with the colour orange. Every now and again I search the Internet for orange things. I'm not feeling the best tonight so thought I'd see what new things I could find. And I found this ....

I totally want one!! I showed Nic & Danice who I happened to be chatting with on MSN (as per usual) and Nic mentioned it reminded her of Mork & Mindy ... and OMGoodness it so does!! And I LOVED that show when I was a kid!! So who remembers Mork & Mindy? Here's a little reminder for you

Robin Williams gotta love the guy he is just too funny!
So what TV shows did you watch as a kid?

Another one of my favourites from when I was younger was a show called Tour Of Duty

My dear sweet hubby bought me the season one DVD of Tour Of Duty when he was in USA in 2009. I LOVED it, brought back so many great memories. My very first Vinyl record I bought was the Tour Of Duty Soundtrack, I can't remember what year it was but I know I was at Intermediate so 1989-90ish

I still have this and because my hubby was freaken awesome and also bought me a record player I do get to listen to it frequently, in fact it has been the music for Art Night with Ruth & Janine the last couple weeks!!

Do you remember the first album you bought? Would love to hear all about it!

Sketches and Adorable Kids

I think my kids are adorable, it's only natural! But I have taken some pretty cute photos of them over the last week. Janine set a sketch Challenge from a Sketch she found on PageMaps for Ruth and me for Art Night ... well Art night came and went and I did nothing much other than print a photo hehe but today I got stuck in and did TWO LOs from the sketch! I impress even myself sometimes hehehe

Here is the Sketch

Here is LO #1 Abbey - taken on Boxing Day after a lovely soak under the new Octopus Sprinkler!

Kaisercraft Hey Birdie range used .. Thanks Becky for cutting out my birdies and punching out my butterflies! She used my new Stampin' Up Butterfly punch! I also used my new Heidi Swapp word stamp which I got from Crafty Tart, definately going back for more of those!

LO # 2 Sketch rotated onto it's side - Riley also Boxing Day after soaking in the water!

Heidi Grace Cheerful Bee papers and another new Heidi Swapp stamp from Crafty Tart

So now I'm off to work on another sketch I just found which looks kinda cool, 3 LOs in one day!
