Things I'm Loving

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something you can be thankful for..no matter how simple it is.
I am Loving .......

This crazy girl and her crazy outfits, which mostly tend to be her dolls clothes!!!

My beautiful Phoebe. Phoebe is my baby I had before I had babies. She is 12years old and I was a little concerned about her health so took her to the vet. Turns out she is in perfect health but may be going a little senile. The vet called her a dottery old lady!! She is my snuggle bum.

Getting new clothes from amazing local artists!! If you haven't already go check out Jessie Rose who has recently opened a store in Kamo. She is an AMAZING artist and I absolutely love her Rose Red and Boy Black ranges. Riley is modeling a Boy Black T-shirt.

My neighbour, who recently moved out, gave me a heap of wood that was on her property.  We borrowed my uncles chainsaw and my brother chopped it up. This is only half! I don't think I'll have to buy much, if any firewood this winter! Score!!!

Using the long weekend (Northland Anniversary) to take advantage of exploring my hometown!

Visiting Reotahi Marine Reserve

Visiting the Quarry Gardens

Reading LOTS. I have given myself a goal, over at Goodreads, to read 100 books this year. I have so many books that have been given to me that I want to read. My library is overflowing!! I love it! Reading is good for my soul, I want to feed my soul a lot more this year.

Things I'm Loving

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something you can be thankful for..no matter how simple it is.

This week I am Loving ........

This Guy ....

well it isn't my canary but it looks and sounds like him.  A few weeks ago we got this beautiful orange canary, we named him Sherbert. He's been fairly quiet but the last week he has been singing away, it is a beautiful sound and I am loving listening to him.

This Show ....

Buffy is my all time favourite TV show. I am a geek and I have all 7 seasons on DVD. I have been re-watching them all from season 1 and right now I am almost at the end of season 5.  Not sure what I'm going to do when it finishes ... what on earth will I watch!?!?!?!

These Books ....

My Aunt is a MASSIVE reader, she had hundreds of books in boxes and had decided it was time to get rid of them so I got first dibs! Sooo excited!  There was a book called The Alchemyst - The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel.  Of course being a MASSIVE Harry Potter fan I HAD to take that book. If anyone knows Harry, Nicholas Flamel played a pretty major part in the plot of the Philosophers Stone.  The Alchemyst has nothing to do with Harry Potter but I LOVE it just as much!!

The book series is called 'The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel' and they are by Michael Scott. The books have magic, mythical beings, hidden worlds, amazing creatures and fantastic storylines and I am LOVING them! There are 6 books and I have just finished reading book #2 and am just dying to start #3.
If you like fantasy you really need to read these!

 This Swap ....

I have sent off my Mug this morning to my recipient. I can't wait until she gets it and I sure hope she likes it!! I also can't wait to find out who got me!!

End of an Era ...

So very very sad that it is all over. There are no more books and no more movies. What am I talking about? Harry Potter of course!

Harry Potter is quite special to me. It was one of the things that Jason and I shared a passion for. When he first arrived in NZ He was reading book three, The Prisoner Of Azkaban, and I had just finished reading it. We had also both seen the first film. I'm not sure how it happened but we started reading the books to each other, out loud in bed at night we would read a chapter. Sometimes Jase read, mostly I did. It was a pretty cool bonding thing I guess!! But that is how we read books 4 - 7. So Harry Potter is special for us.

When Jase died we had seen up to movie 6 so I was pretty upset about going to the last 2 movies without him. But Oh My Goodness! What an AMAZING end to a phenomenal story. Even though, having already read the books, I knew what was going to happen seeing it live on the big screen was amazing. Loved it totally!

So in honor of my love for Harry Potter here are a few of my favourite Harry finds ....

Farewell Harry I feel like I'm saying goodbye to a good friend

Book Review - Nat Fantastic and the Brave Knights of Old

I was lucky enough to get a book to review from Kiwi Mummy Blogs!!

Nat Fantastic and the Brave Knights of Old by Giles Andreae & Katharine McEwan

I was so excited to get this book because I LOVE books! Reading books when I was working as an ECE Teacher was one of my favourite things to do and my kids thankfully have inherited my love of books too.

This is totally a book you can get excited with, loud with and my favourite part you can totally get the kids involved in the reading because it has a catch phrase!! I LOVE books that have catch phrases!! This is the second Nat Fantastic book, I sadly haven't read the first one but after reading 'Nat Fantastic and the Brave Knights of Old' I really want to. My kids loved it!

So here is a little snippet of the book read by Riley and Abbey ....

So if you haven't read this to your kids already do it!! Do it NOW!!!!

Snapfish .. you ROCK!!!!

I got a free snapfish photo book from Orcon (thanks Orcon) for being a great customer teehee!! And OMGoodness!!!! It arrived yesterday and I just HAVE to share!

JASON PALMER aka DADDY

Mummy & Daddy loved each other very much, so much that they got married on 15th November 2003

And had two beautiful babies together. First we became a family of three with the arrival of Riley Jay on March 19th 2005

Riley had Daddy wrapped around his finger from day one! Our first holiday as a family to USA, we sure had fun in new York City

We did lots of fun things as a family, like feeding the ducks at Mair Park with cousins Jasmine & Zane. Riley and Daddy always had alot of fun, at the park, on Guy Fawkes and goofing around at home.

And then along came Abbey on July 27th 2007, and we became a family of four. Abbey also had Daddy wrapped around her finger from Day one, but she also had a Big brother to adore her as well.

We had lots of fun together as a family, going to fairs, having parties, dressing up at Halloween, and just goofing around together. We all loved each other VERY much.

DADDY LOVES RILEY >>> DADDY LOVES ABBEY

Riley and Abbey love Daddy and we ALL miss him VERY much

We miss doing fun things with Daddy and miss him catching us when we fall. But we will always remember all the best times we had and the sad ones.

We will remember Daddy's love, his infectious grin, his sense of humour, his silliness and his loyalty.

We will love you forever Daddy and even though you aren't wit us we will always be a family and will never forget you ... RIP xxxx
