Happy Birthday To Me .....

Well Birthday .. not so sure about Happy. On days like today it's when you really miss your loved ones and today I was thinking about my dear hubby ALOT. We spent the majority of the day on the phone or online with each other but it just isn't the same .. so when he went off to bed (darn 8 hour time difference) I needed something to distract me from the gloomy feeling. I played cards and coloured with the kids and scrapped. Nothing like a bit of good crafting to get you in a better mood!! If anything came out of the sad day it's how much I appreciate my friends :) I got so many "we love you happy birthday" wishes from them it was hard to be sad for long, thanks guys .. you all know who you are xxxx

Anyways .... I'm posting my True Blood ATCs off tomorrow so I'm gonna show a little sneak peek

and here is the LO I finished today

Now off to try start another LO while the mood stays!!

More LOs

I have kept up my Scrapping since seemingly getting out of my 6 week block .. it's been nice :)
Here are the latest pages ...

This was done for a chalenge which had to have One Photo (opps cheated there), a decorative edge using cutting, punching or ripping, ribbon or lace and bling (opps I forgot the bling) I'm quite pleased with this one, I used up some of my Kasier Sakura Park Papers which have been screaming to be used :) Sadly I used my last black flower on this LO :( Oh well good excuse for some shopping!!!

I've had these pics laying around for AGES!! I haven't known what to do with them until I was browsing through some galleries and got an idea from a LO on there. My favourite bit of this LO is the upside down T ... small things amuse small minds hehe. The stars and circles are from MME Just Dreamy, Star Bright paper range.

This is me catching up on the 52 Sketches, this one is Sketch #21 ... only 3 more to catch up!!

I am now taking a small break from LOs to make some True Blood ATC cards, I have to do 3 different ones, I have finished one set, have an idea for second set but have still got to come up with what set 3 is going to be hmmmmmm best get the thinking cap on!!

Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder ....

Tis the case with my Hubby and my Scrapping!!
I haven't crafted in about 5 weeks, sad I know but the mood was all wrong. It has been cold I've been rather sad and I have been reading up a storm. But on Friday I though NO I MUST CRAFT and I did and I have keep crafting since :) So here is what I have done ...

As I went in to pick Riley up after work last night he ran across the classroom tripped and hit his head on the edge of a table, I went over to him and he was crying and when I picked him up there was alot of blood, I took him over to the bench where Nina (his teacher) grabbed some cloths and held it to his head, I couldn't bring myself to look so Nina did and she said she thought he needed to go to Coast Care (the local A&E), I bundled Riley up took Abbey back to the babies room and left her with Lyann (her teacher) then rushed Riley down to coast care with him holding a cloth to his head. We waited for ages to see the doctor and Riley had stopped crying in the car on the way so he was feeling pretty ok. We finally saw the doctor and he had a look (it had stopped bleeding) there was a very deep and wide gash in his left eyebrow. He went off to talk to the nurse and came back in. He said they couldn't glue it because it was too close to his eye and butterfly stitches wouldn't work so the last option was to stitch it. He said I had two options
1) Get it done right then and there with Riley been VERY unhappy until it was done
2) Go to Starship where they would put him to sleep and do it
I really didn't like the idea of him having to be put to sleep and Abbey was still with Lyann and going to Starship meant more waiting around and a longer night so I opted for them to do it there. The nurse wrapped Riley up in a big blanket like we used to wrap Abbey as a baby, pinning his arms (this is where he started crying again) I sat next to him holding his arms and legs down and keeping them still, the nurse held his head. He was so very brave and although he cried he didn't move and was very still like the doctor and nurse asked him to be. They gave him three stitches and a yellow lollipop :) I have been back to the doctor this morning for them to change the dressing and everything looks really good, and the stitches will come out on Monday ... here are the photos I took this morning when the nurse was changing his dressing ... oh my poor baby :(

Well off to make the poor boy some lunch and then get going on another LO I ahve almost finished :)

Void

of anything interesting! Didn't even have anything to post on my BLOGAVERSARY which was yesterday, a year of blogging wow!! Well I haven't crafted since my last post and well I really don't feel like crafting, which is so unlike me. Have been reading reading reading still working my way through the Harry Potter books in preperation for the movie in July. Jason has had word that his package has reached the last step before he gets the official yay or nay but we aren't excpecting a nay, lets just hope the last step in the processing is a quick one and we can start busying ourselves with moving preperations!! I could be doing that now but I don't want to jinx everything by getting ahead of myself!! Financial situations have led me to going back to work another day a week so now I only have a Wednesday off grrr 'Money is the root of ALL evil!' But that is really it, I guess anticipation of starting to pack my scrap stuff, having one less day to scrap and missing Jase HEAPS are the contributing factors in not feeling crafty lately. Here's hoping next time I blog it's with news of beginning to pack up my scrap space .... a task I am NOT looking forward to!

Online Crop

Fiskateers had an online crop going on over the weekend for National Scrapbooking Day. There were HEAPS of challenges going on and I have sadly only had a chance to do two so far! I am itching to craft and do ALL of the challenges thay have on but sadly children need attention (who would've thought?) and I've had an extra yesterday too (babysitting for a friend) so no crafting time for me! I do however plan to put the kids to bed, drink copius amounts of cocacola (perhaps mixed with a bit of Kahlua) and scrap the night away!!
Anyway this is what I have achieved over the last few nights

This is sketch #17 at 52 Sketches, I just LOVE this pic of Riley, he looks so thoughtful! And for those of you who don't know Blues Clues HERE is the title inspiration :)

This was the first Online Crop Challenge I did ... The Challenge was for the Aussies and Kiwis only and it had to have a 'Time' theme or the word time in the title. I did this one quite differently from the way I usually do as I searched out a title first then chose the pics and paper lol worked well though!!

This is the second crop Challenge I have finished. The Challenge was to use the word 'BEE _____' in the title. As soon as I read this challenge I knew excactly which photo I wanted to use!! 'Little BEEauty' As I was putting it together I was frowning but the finished result makes me smile! It's also the first time I've used vellum in quite a while!

So I don't think I've mad a bad effort so far lol!! I have pics printed and ready to go for when the kids go to bed and I have itchy crafting fingers!!!

Blog Award

Thanks Nic!!

So now I pass it on to fellow blggers I admire ...

Jodi
Nicole
and
Becky

I have been a teeny bit creative but since Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is coming up in July I thought (as per my own tradition) I am re-reading all the books to get it all fresh in my mind before the movie.

Anyway I digress ....

This isn't one of my favourites but I do love the Kaisercraft Christmas range, this is from the Home For Christmas range, I just LOVE the birds!!

This Lo was done using my very first Paper Pesto kit. Not everything is from the kit but all the papers are. It is also sketch #16 at 52 Sketches, love that place!!

MIA

Life is standing still .. well it feels like it and since coming back from Whangarei after Easter I have been rather blah. 90% missing my hubby 10% weather. Feeling blah doesn't get the creative juices flowing. I have dabbled in my crafts kinda, but mostly I have reverted back to my very first passion ... books. I have been reading and reading and reading. It has been nice, nothing quite like relaxing with a book to take your mind off the misery of real life.
On the Hubby front ... more exams have been superbly passed and we are another step closer to the goal but there is still paper wor and waiting to be dealt with.
I had a lovely time in Whangarei over Easter and the kids loved hanging out with Grandma and Grandad, we also caught up with Uncle Dave, Aunty Tina and cousins Luke and Liam.
Anyway here are a few pics of crafts and stuff we've been up to and hopefully I'll be creating again soon :)

Easter

is just aroud the corner. This year I decided to make little gifties for Riley and Abbeys teachers and friends. I made these tags to attach to which ever goody I decide to get!!

To begin with I wanted them to be all the same, but I pulled out my scrap box and used up some more of my scraps!! So they turned out a little different to each other!
My darling mother has asked me to make a 70th birthday card for one of her clients. I am NOT a card maker, but I thought I might take on this project as well as trying to use up some more of my scraps to try make a little box of cards for myself. Watch this space I amy very well turn into a card maker!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA yeah it is funny!!
